I am Pravin Sharma a fifth year PhD candidate in Department of Applied Science at William & Mary. I am working with Prof. Gunter Luepke. My research focuses on understanding the interfacial spin dynamics at different magnetic heterostructure materials. We use both experimental and theoretical approach to understand the spin dynamics.

I am mainly focusing at the Atomistic Spin Dynamics modeling of magnetic materials and different bilayer systems. The focus is on understanding the dynamical processes by studying the magnetization dynamics, swithching behavior, effect of fundamental parameters on the critical properties of materials and system. Our researach involves nonlinear optical techniques which is based on the usage of ultrafast high-power lasers with the femtosecond time scale resolution.

Along with my own research project, I was able to mentor two undergraduates in our lab in their Capstone Project in both experimental set up, Ultrafast laser system working, and Atomistic Spin Dynamics Simulations during their Honors Thesis and trying to understand the light matter interactions at the interface of different materials.
